Make Time To Talk
Welcome to the “Make Time to talk” podcast.
I’m hoping to bring some light into the world during 2023 so I’ve created this podcast to try and inspire as many people as possible who are struggling to speak up and seek the help they need.
The guests coming on are talking about their personal struggles and journeys in life. This has proven to be a massive help for my own mental health, I thought I knew a lot about the subject but the more I speak to people, the more I learn.
Topics are wide-ranging and I’m trying to cover as much as I can across the board for mental health. If you’ve got a story and journey to share, then we want to hear it. This is a collective effort and I need your help to start to encourage this conversation.
I hope you enjoy the content from this podcast and don’t forget to make time to talk.

António Ferreira - Affray, Psychosis and Hidden Signs - ⚽
Don't miss Antonio's powerful podcast episode, where he opens up about the often-missed signs of mental struggles, especially in high-pressure environments like football. As a talented footballer who faced the challenges of moving to semi-professional and academy levels, Antonio recounts how the expectations of physical excellence overshadowed the importance of mental well-being.
Through heartfelt anecdotes, Antonio reflects on the early signs of his mental health struggles, describing moments of anger and defiance during high school. Unfortunately, no immediate action was taken back then, leaving him to navigate his internal turmoil alone.
Seeking help was a turning point for Antonio, as he reached out to the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. However, the response he received was far from the support he needed, leading to a crisis situation. With his brother's timely intervention, he was prevented from acting on a dangerous plan, but this incident unexpectedly drew police involvement and criminal charges.
